Program Manager, R&D
The Challenge
The Program Manager, R&D will partner with the Chief of Staff to the Chief Technology & Product Officer (CTPO) to drive the operational rhythm of the R&D organization. This role runs cross-functional programs, coordinates executive forums, and delivers content and communications that help R&D leadership move faster and more effectively. The role reports to the Chief of Staff to the CTPO and partners closely with the Executive Assistant and R&D VPs.
You Will
Program & Initiative Management
Track and report on strategic initiatives owned by R&D VPs, maintaining visibility into status, risks, and dependencies; surface blockers and drive accountability across owners.
Run point on cross-functional R&D programs (e.g., adoption initiatives, organizational health programs), including operating cadence, milestone tracking, and stakeholder reporting.
Build and maintain dashboards, trackers, and operating mechanisms that give the CTPO and VP staff a clear view of progress against commitments.
Maintain investment, event, and initiative trackers (e.g., BTL investments, partner events, POC tracking) to support cross-team prioritization and decision-making.
Operational Support
Partner with the Chief of Staff and EA to coordinate VP staff meetings, offsites, and planning cycles, including pre-reads, materials, and decision capture.
Support OKR and planning processes — helping VPs prepare inputs, synthesizing outputs, and packaging information for executive review.
Coordinate interview panels and hiring logistics for senior R&D roles, including scheduling, prep materials, and debrief facilitation.
Take on ad-hoc projects spanning R&D leadership priorities, ranging from research and analysis to event logistics to communications drafting.
Executive Programs
Coordinate and produce R&D All Hands and company All Hands sessions in partnership with the CTPO, EA, and R&D leadership — including agenda development, speaker prep, content creation, run-of-show, and follow-up communications.
Develop content for external and internal events where the CTPO is a featured speaker, including talking points, presentation materials, briefing documents, and pre-event research on audiences and topics.
You Are/Have
2-4 years of experience in program management, chief of staff, business operations, or a comparable cross-functional role, ideally in a software or technology company.
Demonstrated ability to run multiple workstreams in parallel and drive them to closure with minimal oversight.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting executive-facing content (memos, decks, talking points).
Comfort working directly with senior leaders and across functions; able to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities with sound judgment.
Proficiency in standard productivity tools (Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, project tracking platforms).
Preferred
Fluency with AI tools and a track record of using them to accelerate program management, communications, and analysis work.
Prior experience supporting an R&D, engineering, or product organization.
Familiarity with OKR frameworks, operating cadences, and executive planning processes.
For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is listed below. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits.
Salary Range
$69,375—$104,063 USD
