Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Financial Services Representativeto join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical billing and patient financial responsibilities. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between patients and our clinical teams, ensuring accurate financial processing, insurance coordination, and exceptional customer service to support our clients’ treatment journey.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with financial inquiries related to their treatment plans, insurance coverage, and billing processes.

Verify patient insurance information and obtain pre-authorizations or referrals as needed to facilitate seamless billing procedures.

Prioritize and collect payments accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations and confidentiality standards.

Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing purposes.

Maintain detailed records of patient accounts, payment histories, and insurance claims in our management system.

Follow up on outstanding balances or denied claims promptly (via email and by phone) to optimize revenue cycle management.

Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns timely, professionally, and empathetically.

Escalate unresolved or high-risk accounts appropriately.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on financial services or billing support.

Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare billing procedures.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple accounts simultaneously.

Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, insurance providers, and team members.

Proficiency in office software applications and electronic health record systems.

Ability to work hybrid 2/3 schedule (2x per week in-office/3x per week remote)

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This is a hybrid position requiring regular in-office attendance based on business needs and company policy.

Work is primarily performed in a professional office or home environment.

Requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, including frequent use of a phone, keyboard, mouse, and multiple computer monitors.

Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, video conferencing, and in person.

Requires the ability to review, analyze, and interpret data, reports, and electronic documents with attention to detail.

May occasionally be required to move or transport office materials weighing up to 15 pounds.

Requires the ability to remain stationary for extended periods while performing analytical and administrative tasks.

Compensation

Starting compensation range of $28.00 - $32.00 hourly. Exact compensation will be determined by experience, education, licensure/certifications, and location, in accordance with applicable laws.
