Partner SE Technology Alliances
About Chainguard
Chainguard is building the future of secure software supply chains by delivering secure-by-default container images, helm charts, and language libraries alongside developer tools that eliminate vulnerabilities before software reaches production. We partner with cloud providers, technology platforms, and independent software vendors to embed secure-by-default software directly into the tools organizations already build with.
About the Role
Chainguard's Technology Alliances program partners with CNAPP vendors, cloud providers, CI/CD platforms, artifact repository managers, container and Kubernetes ecosystem vendors, and security and observability tools to make secure-by-default software the path of least resistance for developers. We're looking for a Partner Solutions Engineer (PSE), Technology Alliances to own the technical side of these relationships: architecting integrations, co-engineering joint solutions with partner engineering teams, and turning technology partnerships into products customers can actually deploy together.
This role sits at the intersection of solutions engineering, product, and partner go-to-market — combining hands-on integration work with the relationship-building skills to align two engineering organizations around a shared roadmap.
Our partner engagement model follows the BEPIC framework:
Belief – Build technical conviction in Chainguard among partner engineering and product teams
Executive Sponsorship – Align with partner engineering and product leadership
Propensity to Embed – Architect and ship integrations that embed Chainguard into partner platforms
Integrated Value Proposition – Deliver joint solutions and reference architectures customers can deploy
Cadence – Maintain a consistent cadence of technical collaboration and roadmap alignment
What You'll Do
Build, Ship and validate Integrations
Design, scope, and help build technical integrations between Chainguard and technology alliance partners — cloud marketplaces, CI/CD platforms, container registries, IDEs, and security or observability tooling. Partner with Chainguard product and engineering teams to prioritize and deliver partner-facing APIs, plugins, and joint tooling.
Architect Joint Solutions
Design reference architectures and solution patterns that show how Chainguard fits end-to-end into a partner's platform. Build demos, sandboxes, and proof-of-concepts that partner and Chainguard sales teams can use to sell the joint story.
Drive Technical Alliance Relationships
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for named technology alliance partners. Align with partner engineering and product leadership on roadmap, integration priorities, and technical dependencies, and represent Chainguard in joint architecture reviews.
Enable Partner and Field Teams
Create technical enablement content — architecture docs, playbooks, workshops — that helps partner SEs and Chainguard field teams position and sell the joint solution. Run joint webinars, workshops, and technical briefings with partner teams.
Support Marketplace and Co-Sell Motion
Manage the technical requirements behind cloud marketplace listings (AWS, Azure, GCP) and co-sell programs. Partner with Sales and Partner Managers to support technical validation in partner-sourced and partner-influenced deals.
Represent Partner Needs Internally
Be the voice of technology alliance partners inside Chainguard — feeding integration requirements, technical blockers, and roadmap requests back to product and engineering, and broadcasting partner progress to field teams.
What We're Looking For
5+ years in Solutions Engineering, Partner/Technical Alliances, Sales Engineering, or a related technical partnerships role
Experience building or supporting technical integrations (APIs, SDKs, plugins, marketplace listings) with technology partners
Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash) for building demos, integrations, and automation
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container/Kubernetes ecosystems
Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD, and the broader cloud-native and software supply chain security landscape
Hands-on experience with artifact repository managers (e.g., JFrog Artifactory, Cloudsmith, Sonatype Nexus) and their role in software supply chain, package distribution, and developer workflows
Comfort operating as a technical bridge between two engineering organizations
Strong ability to communicate complex technical topics to both engineers and business stakeholders
Ability to travel as needed for partner engineering summits, conferences, and QBRs
Nice to Have
Direct experience working within a technology alliances, ISV partnerships, or partner engineering team
Experience with cloud marketplace listing processes (AWS Marketplace, Azure Marketplace, GCP Marketplace)
Technical evangelism and storytelling skills, with experience presenting at partner or industry events
High emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills across engineering and executive stakeholders
Prior open-source contribution or community involvement in the cloud-native ecosystem
If you're passionate about cloud-native technology, open source, security, and building products together with partners, we'd love to hear from you.
