Associate Cloud Engineer
The GDC Associate Cloud Engineer is a member of 3Cloud’s managed services team. He or she is responsible for ongoing technical support, handling escalations from a monitoring team and leading proactive task-based work (e.g. maintenance) for all supported client’s Azure environments. As a GDC Associate Cloud Engineer, you will be a part of our core team who is essential to the success of our Managed Services division.
Roles and Responsibilities
Codes all unassigned tickets
Initial support and acknowledgement on all alerting tickets both in the ticketing system and Logic Monitor
Creates and manages Microsoft support escalation tickets
Performs VM resizes and new VM creations when time permits
Troubleshoots and re-installs Azure agents for backups and patching
Provides initial support for backup failures tickets
Assists with patching where required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
1 - 2 years of Azure experience and have worked with a ticketing system
1 - 2 years of experience with cloud servers, services and software or equivalent system admin experience with on-prem server and virtualization environments
Experience in a 24x7 managed services hosted service company, or Network Operations Center environment
Experience with ITIL processes and associated ITSM systems and service portals for Incident and Change Management
Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud-based environments (e.g. AWS), including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
Experience with Windows and Linux system administration, supporting and scaling virtual server cloud or on-prem environments and solving network issues
Experience with Azure native services (e.g. Policy, Cost Management, Active Directory, Lighthouse, Monitor/Log Analytics, Microsoft Defender for Cloud)
Understanding of system admin concepts including, but not limited to virtualization, containers, disk storage, encryption, security, network connectivity, firewalls and load balancers
Understanding of network concepts and principles and experience in managing and troubleshooting network devices and connectivity
Operational knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell and Kusto-Query Language (KQL)
Experience with Azure-based deployments and migrations or other cloud platforms is a plus
Having passed Microsoft Azure certification AZ-104 is a plus
ITIL foundation certification preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A passion for problem solving and learning new technologies
Client relationship skills and experience managing vendors
