Financial Analyst (Pre-Award) - Part Time
This position is in support of US Southern Command under the Enhanced Domain Awareness contract. Our team shall refine the processes, technology, infrastructure, and personnel necessary to transition EDA into a scalable, distributed intelligence ecosystem. Leveraging the existing EDA infrastructure, this effort enhances cyber security, structured governance, metadata lineage, and data transformation capabilities of the command.
Position Overview
The Financial Management Analyst is responsible for supporting program financial operations, including budget planning, execution, and reporting, in alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) financial management processes. This role ensures the effective allocation and tracking of funding, supports mission objectives through accurate financial analysis and compliance with federal budgeting frameworks, and requires close coordination with program leadership, financial management teams, and external stakeholders to ensure fiscal accountability and mission alignment. This position is off-site and part-time, representing one-quarter (0.25) of a full-time equivalent (FTE) position.
NOTE: This position is contingent upon award of contract, expected in the next 30-60 days.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of DoD financial management processes, including PPBE
Proficiency in financial forecasting, cost estimation, and budget analysis
Ability to track and reconcile program funds across multiple funding sources
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent reporting and documentation capabilities
Familiarity with congressional budget processes and justification requirements
Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable recommendations
Required Experience
Demonstrated experience in DoD budget execution and financial management
Experience in cost estimation, financial forecasting, and program financial reporting
Hands-on experience with defense financial management systems
Experience supporting congressional budget justification processes
Proven ability to perform funding reconciliation and expenditure tracking
Experience aligning program funding with DoD financial planning processes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field or Minimum of five (5) years of equivalent experience in financial management

Lean Six Sigma Certification
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Knowledge Management (KM) Certification
Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
DAWIA Level II Certification in Financial Management
