Senor iOS Engineer
Position Description:
At ServiceTrade, you’ll build technology that matters — for your career, your team, and the thousands of commercial contractors who rely on our platform every day. We’re on a mission to partner with commercial trades to deliver technology that enhances technician productivity, improves customer experiences, and drives scalable growth.
We’re looking for a Sr iOS Engineer who’s excited to make an impact. In this role, you will be responsible for building and evolving our native iOS application used by field service technicians on the job. You'll work on a mature, modular Swift codebase — contributing to offline-first sync architecture, incremental SwiftUI adoption, and platform features that directly impact how our customers work in the field. You'll collaborate closely with Android, Backend, API, and Web teams, and play an active role in shaping engineering practices on the mobile team.
Why ServiceTrade:
You’ll belong here from the start.
We bring together kind, curious people with diverse perspectives and trust them with meaningful work. You’ll have ownership, clarity, and support to solve real problems, make a visible impact for our customers, and continue growing as your role evolves.
On the iOS team, you'll have the opportunity to work deep in a mature, modular Swift codebase building features that field technicians depend on every day. You'll contribute to real architectural decisions alongside the Mobile Architect, help shape how the team adopts AI-assisted development, and see your work ship to the App Store on a regular cadence.
About You:
You've spent years writing Swift and know your way around UIKit and SwiftUI, and you enjoy the puzzle of getting offline sync and data consistency right. You care about code quality without being precious about it. You write tests, give good feedback in reviews, and take feedback just as well. You're excited about AI-assisted development tools and know how to use them to genuinely improve your work, not just move faster on autopilot. You communicate clearly with teammates across disciplines, and you're just as comfortable in an architecture discussion as you are heads-down in Xcode.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
Feature Development & Architecture
Design, build, and maintain features for the ServiceTrade iOS application using Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
Contribute to and help evolve our MVVM architecture
Work within our modular SPM-based codebase; understand and respect module boundaries
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making
Collaborate with the Mobile Architect on platform direction and standards
Offline-First & Data Layer
Build and maintain features that work reliably across varying network conditions, including offline scenarios
Work with Core Data and our sync engine to ensure data consistency and reliability
Contribute to conflict resolution and data synchronization strategies
Code Quality & Engineering Practices
Write well-tested code; contribute to unit and integration test coverage using XCTest
Participate in code reviews; provide and receive feedback constructively
Adopt and champion AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows to improve delivery speed and quality
Follow and help refine coding standards across the iOS team
Performance & Observability
Monitor app health via Crashlytics, Kibana, and Pendo; investigate and resolve issues proactively
Profile and optimize app performance across supported iOS versions and devices
Contribute to feature flag implementation and safe rollout practices using Firebase Remote Config
Collaboration
Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, API, and Web teams to deliver features end-to-end
Collaborate with QA on end-to-end test coverage and release readiness
Communicate technical trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Knowledge and Skills:
Required:
5+ years of professional iOS development experience
Strong proficiency in Swift; solid understanding of UIKit with working knowledge of SwiftUI
Experience with MVVM or similar architecture patterns in production iOS applications
Experience with Core Data or similar local persistence solutions
Proficiency with async programming patterns — Combine, Swift concurrency (async/await), or equivalent
Experience with REST API integration and offline-first or sync-heavy mobile applications
Solid understanding of iOS memory management, performance profiling, and debugging tools
Experience with unit and integration testing on iOS
Proven experience with AI-assisted development tools; pragmatic about their strengths and limitations
Demonstrated ability to help teammates adopt AI tooling where it genuinely improves output and quality
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and App Store release processes
Strong collaboration and communication skills; comfortable working across teams
Preferred:
Experience building form-based applications and data-collection utilities from a mobile app perspective
Experience with Swift Package Manager (SPM) and modular iOS architecture
Familiarity with Firebase ecosystem including Crashlytics, Analytics, and Remote Config
Experience with Pendo or similar product analytics platforms
Familiarity with Fastlane and GitHub Actions for iOS build automation
Experience with feature flag systems and remote configuration
Experience integrating mobile payment solutions such as Stripe or equivalent
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or Cursor
Experience with Quick and Nimble or similar BDD testing frameworks
Prior experience at a SaaS or field service software company
Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks such as .NET MAUI or Flutter
