ABOUT THE TEAM:

We're looking for a Senior UI Designer to elevate the visual quality, consistency and craft of the Tide app.

This is a unique role within our Design Systems team. While you'll work closely with designers, engineers and brand partners, you'll be the dedicated UI specialist responsible for driving the visual evolution of our product. You'll have the opportunity and responsibility to shape how millions of members experience Tide every day.

This isn't about redesigning for the sake of it. It's about identifying thoughtful, high-impact opportunities to refine, modernise and elevate the interface while strengthening usability, accessibility and brand perception.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Work within the Design Systems team to evolve our visual language, components and patterns.

Refine our colour palette, typography, spacing and visual hierarchy to create a more polished, modern and distinctive product experience.

Identify opportunities across the app where thoughtful UI improvements can make the experience feel more intuitive, contemporary and premium.

Lead UI-focused initiatives that strengthen how members perceive the Tide brand through the product experience.

Create compelling visual concepts and prototypes that clearly communicate your ideas.

Build strong narratives around design decisions, influencing stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Brand and Design.

Balance aesthetic excellence with usability, accessibility and technical feasibility.

Champion high standards of visual craft through reviews, feedback and collaboration.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for a bright, talented UI Designer who is passionate about brilliant customer and brand experiences, and knows how to make them happen. The impact and scope of this role are huge, and you’ll be a key contributor to our continued success as we shape the future of our financial platform for Small & Medium-sized Enterprises.

Technical Skills:

5+ years of experience in visual design, graphic design, UI design, or a related field, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing digital products.

Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and/or other industry-standard software.

Explore and adopt AI-powered design tools and emerging technologies to improve the quality, speed and efficiency of design workflows.

Good understanding of HTML/CSS and front-end frameworks (a plus).

Experience with motion design and prototyping tools (e.g., After Effects, Principle) is preferred.

Experience working in/with design systems

Core Competencies:

Exceptional UI design skills with a keen eye for detail, composition, and aesthetics.

Ability to balance visual craft with practical engineering feasibility.

Strong problem-solving abilities and an analytical mindset.

Excellent communication skills, able to clearly explain ideas, advocate for design decisions, and provide constructive feedback to teams & stakeholders.

D documentation skills (Storybook, Zeroheight), recognising that a successful design system relies on clear guidance, thoughtful rationale and well-maintained standards as much as great components.

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in agile environments.

Soft Skills:

Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and guide team members.

A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.

Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

A mindset of continuous improvement, you don't just deliver designs, you improve the way design gets done.

Nice to have:

Experience mentoring junior designers.

Familiarity with accessibility auditing tools and processes.

You’ll thrive in this role if..

You notice visual inconsistencies that others miss.

You have a strong point of view but remain open to evidence and collaboration.

You care as much about execution as you do ideas.

You believe a great UI builds trust, reinforces a brand and makes products easier to use.

You enjoy taking ownership and being the person who raises the visual bar for an entire product.
