Senior Program / Engineering Manager
N-iX is looking for a Senior Program / Engineering Manager to join the project and own the programme end-to-end.
Our client - the world's leading corporate domain registrar - helps global enterprises manage their domain portfolios and protect their brands from online threats. The programme consolidates the group's previously separate web platforms onto a single, modernised system on AWS, delivering client migration and full feature parity against a firm timeline.
This is a senior leadership role, but a hands-on one: you will set direction and be accountable for outcomes across multiple delivery teams and workstreams, while staying involved in the day-to-day — unblocking teams, steering technical and delivery decisions, and keeping the migration and feature-parity tracks moving in lockstep. You will be the primary delivery owner facing stakeholders, translating business priorities into an executable plan and reporting reliable, defensible status against it.
Responsibilities:
Own delivery of the full programme - client migration and feature parity projects from planning through to release, accountable for scope, timeline, quality, and predictability.
Lead and coordinate multiple delivery teams and workstreams, ensuring dependencies, sequencing, and priorities stay aligned across the migration and parity tracks.
Stay hands-on day-to-day: remove impediments, drive technical and delivery decisions, and keep momentum rather than managing purely from a distance.
Own the migration plan - cutover sequencing, risk and rollback planning, and data/feature validation - so clients move onto the consolidated platform smoothly and on schedule.
Drive feature parity: ensure legacy capabilities are fully mapped, prioritised, and delivered on the new stack with no loss of functionality clients depend on.
Be the primary delivery interface to senior MarkMonitor stakeholders — reporting status, risks, and forecasts with transparency, and managing expectations across time zones.
Translate business goals into a clear, executable roadmap and capacity plan, balancing delivery pace against quality and technical debt.
Establish and track the metrics that give leadership confidence — delivery predictability, throughput, milestone burn-up, and programme-level risk.
Line-manage and grow delivery leads, Scrum Masters, and engineers; set ways of working and raise the maturity of the teams over time.
Partner with Product Owners and architecture to keep scope, priorities, and technical direction coherent across the programme.
Requirements:
7+ years in software delivery, including senior program- or engineering-management ownership of complex, multi-team programmes.
Proven experience as a Program Manager, Engineering Manager, or Delivery Lead on complex, multi-team engagements.
Proven track record leading platform migrations and consolidations — ideally including client cutovers and feature-parity efforts on a firm timeline.
Genuinely hands-on leadership style: comfortable operating at both the strategic and day-to-day level, close enough to the work to make and unblock decisions.
Strong delivery-predictability focus — able to forecast, report defensibly, and keep a programme on track in an imperfect, fast-moving environment.
Experience owning delivery across multiple teams and workstreams with dependencies between them.
Solid technical grounding - enough to engage credibly on architecture, migration risk, and engineering trade-offs
Practical command of Agile delivery and project-management practices, and the judgement to blend them pragmatically (overseeing and guiding SMs on the project)
Relevant certifications (PMP, PgMP, PSM/CSM) are a plus.
Strong stakeholder management, including direct ownership of senior client relationships across time zones.
Experience in the software development/engineering/outsourcing industry is a must.
English: Advanced / fluent - you will work directly with US- and UK-based stakeholders.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business) or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with delivery and planning tooling (Jira, roadmapping/Gantt tools) is preferred.
