SDET Engineer
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
About the Role
Trivelta powers sportsbook and casino platforms used by operators around the world. As we continue to scale our global offering, we’re looking for a hands-on Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help us build quality into our product from day one. As an early member of our engineering team, you’ll play a key role in shaping our testing strategy, tooling, and quality culture as we scale.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and wants real ownership over how quality is engineered—not just validated.
Responsibilities:
Build and evolve our automated testing strategy from the ground up
Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for APIs, backend services, and front-end applications
Partner closely with product managers and engineers to define requirements, edge cases, and acceptance criteria early
Embed automated testing into our CI/CD pipeline to support rapid, confident releases
Balance automation with lightweight manual testing when needed to keep velocity high
Identify quality risks early and propose pragmatic solutions—not bureaucracy
Help establish best practices for testability, reliability, and observability
Influence product and engineering decisions with a strong quality mindset
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in SDET, QA engineering, or software engineering with a strong testing focus
Strong coding skills in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or similar)
Hands-on experience with modern test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, REST/API testing frameworks)
Experience testing APIs, backend systems, and distributed services
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
Comfort working with ambiguity and evolving requirements
A proactive, ownership-driven mindset—you see problems and fix them
Nice to Have:
Startup or early-stage company experience
Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Exposure to performance or load testing
Experience working with microservices, event-driven systems, or data-heavy applications
Ability to influence quality culture beyond just test execution

Ownership: you’ll define how testing works here, not inherit legacy systems
Speed: small teams, fast decisions, and minimal process overhead
Growth: real opportunity to expand your scope as the company scales
