Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it

We’re looking for a bank Reconciliation Manager who’s resourceful and excited about getting things done.

In this role, you'll:

Review and process agent e-float purchases

Review and process Partner wallet funding

Going through each transaction individually, making sure the amounts match exactly and noting any differences to investigate

Daily reconciliation of bank transactions

Reconciling banks with corresponding bank agent IDs

Record daily and monthly bank fees

Investigate and identify the source of any discrepancy or balance difference

Assisting direct reports in implementing projects

Key details

Location: You'll work from our Kinshasa office in DRC with no travel.

Work authorisation in DRC is required

This is a permanent position

Requirements

Strong proficiency in English and French

Primary degree in banking, finance, accounting or similar field

At least 4 year's experience in a comparable position

Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals.

Attention to detail and accuracy in reconciling financial data.

Experiencing training and managing junior staff.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Possess foundational knowledge and practical experience in basic bookkeeping or accounting principles.

Demonstrate proficiency with technology, including using Google Sheets, Excel, and similar software tools.

Showcase a strong ability to adhere to deadlines.

Have the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently and effectively.

Exhibit a strong acumen for accountancy and numerical precision.

Display exceptional attention to detail in all tasks and responsibilities.

Show self-motivation, enthusiasm, and a collaborative mindset within a team-oriented environment.

Have experience in identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records.
