Power Platform Lead
Position Overview
The Power Platform Lead is responsible for leading the strategy, architecture, governance, and delivery of automation and low-code solutions. This role serves as the organization’s subject matter expert for Microsoft Power Platform technologies and will drive the design and implementation of scalable automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance data connectivity, and support digital transformation initiatives.
The Power Platform Lead partners closely with business stakeholders, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, IT, and Operations teams to identify automation opportunities, establish governance standards, and deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions. In addition to hands-on technical leadership, this role is responsible for managing Power Platform resources, mentoring team members, and establishing best practices across the Power Platform ecosystem.
This position combines deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, and business process optimization to ensure the successful adoption and growth of automation technologies throughout BGBx.
Responsibilities
Power Platform Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the Power Platform roadmap aligned with BGBx’s business and technology objectives.
Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for Power Automate, Power Automate Desktop, Power Apps, Copilot Studio, and related Microsoft technologies.
Identify and prioritize automation opportunities across Finance, Human Resources, Project Management, Operations, and other business functions.
Establish standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices for enterprise automation development.
Provide architectural guidance and technical oversight for all Power Platform initiatives.
Solution Architecture & Delivery
Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade automation and integration solutions.
Architect scalable, event-driven workflows that integrate with Microsoft 365, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Salesforce, OpenAir, and other enterprise applications.
Design and oversee complex integrations utilizing REST APIs, Graph API, Power BI APIs, Fabric APIs, Azure services, and external data sources.
Review solution designs to ensure scalability, security, maintainability, and performance.
Provide hands-on development support for complex automation and integration requirements.
Data Integration & Analytics Enablement
Partner with Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams to develop automated data workflows and reporting processes.
Design automation solutions that interface directly with Power BI semantic models, datasets, and Fabric Lakehouse environments.
Oversee automated data validation, reconciliation, synchronization, and governance processes.
Enable data-driven workflows that leverage DAX queries, SQL queries, APIs, and business intelligence platforms.
Support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives through automation and integration capabilities.
Governance, Security & Compliance
Establish and maintain Power Platform governance frameworks, standards, and operating procedures.
Manage environments, solution deployment pipelines, version control processes, and release management activities.
Implement security controls utilizing Azure Active Directory, service principals, managed identities, and API authentication frameworks.
Ensure compliance with organizational security, data privacy, and governance requirements.
Define monitoring, auditing, and exception management standards across automation solutions.
Lead platform administration activities and oversee tenant-level governance within the Power Platform ecosystem.
Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise RPA solutions using Power Automate Desktop.
Define standards and best practices for attended and unattended automation deployments.
Identify opportunities to automate legacy applications and manual operational processes.
Oversee bot lifecycle management, monitoring, maintenance, and performance optimization.
Ensure operational stability and reliability of automation assets.
Team Leadership & Project Management
Manage and mentor the Power Platform Engineer and future automation resources.
Assign, prioritize, and oversee workload across automation initiatives and support activities.
Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and technical coaching sessions.
Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development activities.
Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure successful delivery of automation solutions.
Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
Establish performance metrics, operational KPIs, and service-level expectations for automation solutions.
Monitor platform usage, adoption, performance, and reliability through the Power Platform Admin Center and related tools.
Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, error handling, and recovery strategies.
Evaluate emerging Microsoft technologies, AI capabilities, and automation innovations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase automation adoption and business value.
Stay current on advancements across Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AI, and enterprise automation technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related field required.
5–10+ years of experience delivering enterprise automation, integration, business intelligence, or digital transformation solutions.
2–5 years of experience leading technical teams, projects, or enterprise platform initiatives.
Expert-level experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Automate Desktop, Power Apps, and related technologies.
Strong experience designing enterprise integrations utilizing REST APIs, Graph API, Azure services, HTTP requests, JSON schema parsing, and OData endpoints.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI REST APIs, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and cloud-based data platforms.
Deep understanding of Power Platform governance, Center of Excellence (CoE) practices, environment strategy, and enterprise deployment models.
Experience implementing security and compliance frameworks within Microsoft cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of SQL, data architecture, business intelligence concepts, and analytics platforms.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
Experience working in professional services, healthcare communications, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or related industries preferred.
Microsoft Power Platform, Azure, or related certifications preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
