Lead of Asset Finance
Second Foundation is a global energy trading company with around 450 employees across locations in Prague HQ (CZ), Zug (CH), Berlin (DE), Charlotte (USA), and Tokyo (JP). We specialize in power market trading and in the integration and optimization of renewable energy and battery storage systems. In parallel, we are actively expanding our own asset base, with a primary focus on battery storage.
We are looking for a Lead of Asset Finance with overall responsibility for the financial management of our asset businesses, including both our own asset-heavy projects and third-party asset management services (flexibility, balancing, and route-to-market solutions). This role requires a deep understanding of asset-based business models and the key financial drivers of the energy sector.
What you would work on?
Full financial responsibility across our asset portfolio
Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring
Development, review, and optimization of financial models and asset-level economics
Optimization of legal and tax structures across countries for asset businesses, in close cooperation with group legal and tax teams
Setup and improvement of dedicated financial systems for asset businesses where relevant
Support of investment decisions, M&A activities, refinancing, and transaction structuring
Close collaboration with investors, auditors, and external advisors
Financial risk management and regulatory compliance
What makes you a great candidate?
Degree in Finance or a related field
10+ years of relevant professional experience in finance
Background in controlling, audit, tax, and/or transaction services
Extensive experience in the energy or infrastructure (project-based) sector
Hands-on, action-oriented mindset
Ability to operate effectively in a complex, asset-driven environment
