As our global workforce continues to grow, we are looking for an HR Controlling Expert to join our Payroll team. This role is responsible for providing visibility and control over workforce costs, headcount, compensation data, payroll expenses, and people-related reporting across multiple countries and legal entities. The HR Controlling Expert acts as the link between Payroll, Finance, Rewards, HR Operations, and business stakeholders, ensuring workforce and payroll data is accurate, consistent, and translated into meaningful business insights.
What the role involves
HR Controlling & Workforce Cost Management
Own and maintain workforce cost reporting across multiple countries and legal entities
Prepare headcount, FTE, labour cost, compensation, and organisational reporting
Deliver monthly workforce cost analysis and variance reporting
Monitor payroll and workforce cost trends and provide actionable insights
Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes through workforce cost modelling
Support workforce planning activities with cost and headcount data
Payroll Analytics & Reporting
Collect, validate, and consolidate payroll data from multiple payroll providers and countries
Build and maintain standardised payroll and workforce reporting structures
Analyse payroll data to identify trends, anomalies, risks, and optimisation opportunities
Deliver regular payroll dashboards and management reporting
Data Governance & Controls
Identify data inconsistencies, risks, and reporting gaps
Support audits by ensuring workforce and payroll data is properly documented and traceable
Drive continuous improvements in data quality and reporting accuracy
Stakeholder Partnership
Partner with Payroll, Finance, Rewards, HR Operations, and Talent Acquisition teams
Support compensation review cycles through reporting and analysis
Provide workforce and payroll insights to support business decisions
Act as a trusted advisor on workforce costs and people-related reporting
Process Improvement & Transformation
Drive automation and standardisation of workforce and payroll reporting
Support payroll and HR systems implementations and enhancements
Improve reporting capabilities, dashboards, and data visualisation
Support integration between payroll, HRIS, finance, and planning systems
What we are looking for
Experience in HR Controlling, HR Analytics, Payroll, Rewards, or HR Operations
Strong understanding of workforce costs, compensation structures, payroll concepts, and employer contributions
Experience working with HR and payroll data in multinational organisations
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Experience preparing headcount and labour cost reporting
Ability to reconcile payroll costs against financial reporting and General Ledger data
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems
Ability to communicate complex workforce and payroll information to non-technical stakeholders
Strong attention to detail and a governance mindset
Fluency in English
