Agile Scrum Master
Job Description
CSCI Consulting is seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master to support a federal government client in delivering mission-critical technology solutions using Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies. The Scrum Master will serve as a servant leader, Agile coach, and facilitator, helping teams deliver high-quality solutions while fostering continuous improvement and collaboration across stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead and coach Agile teams operating within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Coach and lead an agile team within a scaled agile framework (SAFe)
Facilitate team breakouts to plan work and create PI objectives during PI Planning
Facilitate planning and execution of work during a Program Increment through sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos
Facilitate backlog refinement by collaborating with the product owners and business analysts
Track and remove impediments to improve agile team’s efficiency and effectiveness; reaching out to the larger organizational network for impediment removal; ensuring cross-team coordination
Maintain relevant metrics to understand how well the team is doing and identify areas of improvement
Perform capacity planning to help teams plan iterations and increments
Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to manage dependencies and ensure consistency across teams
Liaison with architects, cyber security SMEs, and other stakeholders; fostering quality communication between engineering disciplines
Manage product releases and dependencies between teams and third parties or between assigned teams and other Scrum teams
Support development of product roadmaps
Coach the team to continuously improve and become a high performing team
Develop new processes and refine existing processes to enhance quality and productivity
Strengthen the presence of the team within the Agile communities of practice and actively contribute to the organization’s Agile Community
Ensure appropriate staffing for assigned Epics and Features
Schedule and allocate work, providing advice and guidance, and resolving problems to meet technical performance and business objectives
Ensure product quality and timeliness of efforts
Minimum Requirements
Active Secret security clearance
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Seven (7)+ years of relevant professional experience
Three (3)+ years leading Agile Scrum and/or SAFe teams
Strong Agile background, with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience leading teams using an Agile Scrum or Scaled Agile approach
Understanding of the software development, including requirements management, development and testing, configuration management, quality assurance, and release management
Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional presence
U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Skills
SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, SAFe Practitioner, or other advanced Agile certifications
Prior Oracle EBS Federal Financial Management experience supporting DoD
Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, information exchanges, data warehouse
Experience with test automation techniques and tools
Experience with building in software security (BSIMM, security touchpoints)
Experience with continuous deployment models
Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas
Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
Past experience working with a Federal agency
Department of War experience is a plus!
